i really like when ordinarily prim and proper characters lose all sense of propriety, sometimes continuously over the course of a narrative. "wild-eyed person in tattered finery who might actually bite you" wasn't old in the 19th century and it's no older now

the hardest to remember is Xbox because it's exactly backwards from Nintendo (whose button layout is stored on some child memory substrate), but I try to remember, "it's like that because Microsoft fucks everything up"
