Overall, the tone I got was “Astarion is a hedonistic horny guy so he uses sex as a means to bring people to Cazador”, implying that he is enjoying what he is doing and chose to use his body as a tool when he could have as easily clubbed people over the head like Aurelia

ok cool, maybe I shouldn’t have said he was never meant to be a sex predator but my point still stands. Astarion in game is a sex predator because he had no choice but to be one for 200 years. Astarion in the book is fully aware he doesn’t have to be one but chooses to anyway. Big difference
