@liushuze.bsky.socialWe can probably isolate most cognitive processes in experimental designs, but how ecologically valid is that? If our tasks force artificial independence between processes, do the conclusions neatly generalize to real-world scenarios where those processes are deeply entangled?
Show PostSo grateful to have worked on this project with @gershbrain.bsky.social and @tomerullman.bsky.social! A huge thanks to both of them for their support, insight, and encouragement throughout this work.
Show PostNEW PAPER on backward reasoning in a single-player puzzle game, based on so-called AND-OR trees: link.springer.com/content/pdf/...
Show PostI'm excited about this work that an amazing undergrad, @ariazhang.bsky.social, did with me and @tomerullman.bsky.social: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... Aria showed how a neural net can discover abstractions for intuitive physics and use its own reliability estimates to decide when to deploy them.
Show PostI'm so grateful for the continued support from my lab, and for everyone who helped along the way, now as an associate professor with tenure at Stanford 🧑🏫🥂🌲
