I think the economist definition of "life-changing" and the layman definition are substantially incongruent. A $30k windfall is something someone would probably clearly remember their entire life (life-changing) while also not substantially shifting their economic conditions (not life-changing).

Well this was prescient. I'm again seeing trans people harassed for criticizing anti-trans Dems with "you wouldn't vote for a 'lesser evil' to stop Hitler becoming president!!!" In 1932 a lot of people did vote for a "lesser evil" to stop exactly that. He promptly put Hitler in power.

It was never extreme for trans people to want to be treated like human beings in whatever spaces we entered. It did not go too far, and no amount of historical revisionism will make the simple request for equal access to safety in public spaces unreasonable.
