Gina Hinojosa polling within spitting distance of Abbott is my biggest surprise of the Texas midterm season. We'll see how well she winds up doing in the real vote, but this has been a shock so far to anyone who follows Texas politics.

Hinojosa and Goodwin are in some polls close, or occasionally even ahead of Abbott and Patrick, but all energy is still being focused on trying to get Paxton over Talarico, even with him still having a much stronger advantage over his opponent than the other two.

I think it's notable that while the state and national GOP is putting a lot of energy into trying to sink James Talarico, very little effort seems to be being made to try to try to go after Texas Dem Gov and Lt Gov candidates Hinojosa and Goodwin, despite them both polling pretty well.
