Next comes letting people die in burning hostels rather than be saved by the fire brigade and letting people get kicked to death in the street rather than be saved by the Police. Turns out focusing on immigration does not in fact help to deal with right wing populists, but instead just serves to maintain the salience of an issue you'll always lose on. It also has the bonus effect of signalling to the base that voted you into power that you don't share their values. Genius.
