Intermissions are still a thing in Icelandic movie theatres. It is brilliant. You get a bathroom break, talk about the first half of the movie and the theatre gets some extra snack revenue. Usually cut in a cliffhanger. I miss going to a movie with intermission.

Back in HS, myself and a friend were film nerds. Back then if you wanted to watch a movie you had to go to a theater showing the movie. One of the films we watched was Seven Samurai. First time I saw a movie with an intermission.
