I’ve already ditched Chrome for Firefox, but just bailed on Firefox last night for @vivaldi.com which is a Chromium based browser, but I’m hoping to utilize them and @qwant.bsky.social for the foreseeable future because the US tech sphere is total ass now

Dreaming about UBI doesn't feed people today. I've studied and worked on tech for decades, always listening, and for a long time believing in the dream of a leisurely automated future when everyone is provided to. What actually happened is that social safety nets and services have been undermined.

And I guess the Larry Ellisons of the world will say GOOD, now you get to RENT all the tech you once used to own, and you will be happy about since that's going to be the only way to do consumer electronics in the future. Nobody owns anything. If you're not happy, ICE will come knocking.
