There is a discussion of page count going on and - my lovelies - page count means nothing. Page count changes because of font, font size, margins, and formatting. You can have a 300 page book with under 55,000 words or over 75,000. It all depends on how you play with the text. Word Count matters.
Show PostOpenly liking and support Harry Potter in 2026 is saying the quiet part _really_ loudly. I hope that fucking hag gets to experience a bonfire real intimately. Trans rights today, tomorrow and forever.
Show PostI've decided the problem isn't that I want to quit writing. It's I don't know what the fuck to write. I'm bored to tears with fantasy at this point, I'm sloppy at horror, terrible at sci-fi, a non-starter in romance, and real life makes me want to rip my face off and wear it on the back of my head.
Show PostMy typo attitude is "hey, they happen" especially when you're converting ebook formats, etc. I also know I - prob most self-edit/self-pub people - agonize over the thought of letting one through. So some rogue "huh?" moments in a trade-published (presumably pro-edited) book are weirdly reassuring.
Show PostI'm generally pretty typo-blind in books I read, so for them to consciously register means there have to be more than a few cropping up. The edit this (trade published) book was given is making me feel a lot better about my own self-editing skills 😂
