Oh and this last one: 7) Famous/well-known person you met, talked to, supported you or spearheaded or continues to champion the entire part of the industry you now exist in... etc. I've shipped a lot of games and the Special Thanks morphs from project to project in the indie space.
Show PostYeah and I cannot believe this is allowed.
Show PostIndies: 1) Friends who listened, sometimes the whole local community 2) Family who puts up with your work. They maybe watched your kids while you traveled. 3) You maybe even thanked your kids. 4) Mentors 5) Your pets 6) Your local coffee shops and takeout places who now know you by name.
Show PostYeah this really sucks. Contractors usually don't get PTO, health insurance, or any other benefits. And then they get discarded at the end of a project and are out scrambling for work again. If this is gonna be how gamedev works now, we need unions.
