Show PostThanks @jamiereilly.bsky.social for such an exciting talk @ISTC-CNR, full of promising insights on the relation between concreteness and aging. Cherry on top: an #opensource R's package for analysing conversation alignment through different semantic dimensions.
Show PostA new paper on interoceptive and exteroceptive experiences for concepts, with mouse tracking. Interoception counts for abstract concepts, but even more for concrete concepts of natural elements (e.g., ocean, forest). Thanks @laurabarca.bsky.social, S. Diana, D.C.Duarte, @giusiporciello.bsky.social.
Show PostVery proud of the members of BALLAB who are presenting at conferences! @mattiagervasi at Embodied and Situated Language Processing (ESLP) on inner speech and action learning. @chiaradelivio.bsky.social at SWECOG25 on an interactive study on abstract and vague concepts.🙃 @ballabrome.bsky.social
Show PostVery proud of the PhD defense of @ileniafalcinelli.bsky.social. Her dissertation focuses on ecological concepts (e.g., pollution), with various tasks, in older and younger adults. This work shows how studies on abstract concepts can help improve pro-environmental behaviors. @ballabrome.bsky.social
