In The Handmaid’s Tale, the Commanders preach purity but sneak off to brothels. It’s not fiction, it’s a mirror. The most repressed are often the most controlling. If they just let themselves enjoy life, maybe they wouldn’t burn the world trying to punish everyone else for enjoying it.

The spa will fail, they *know* it’ll fail and they’ll say “oh dear, I guess we have to make it a casino now.” Like the baseball stadium built with $300 million of Toronto taxes and then sold to Rogers for 1/12 of that, this is just theft from the public 👇🏼
