From Thursday morning through Friday morning, #Isaias rapidly intensified and became the first major hurricane of the season. Then just as it was approaching the coastline on Friday night, it weakened slightly to a 90-knot Category 2 hurricane.

10/08/2026 11P CT Isaias will be a dangerous hurricane w/ significant storm surge, damaging winds, & flooding rains when it reaches the northern Gulf Coast Fri-Sat. The wind field predicted to grow due interaction w/ another wx system & some of these impacts will extend well away from the center.
