So viel zu dem Mythos, Reiche würden wegziehen, wenn sie Vermögensteuer zahlen müssten. Es war auch nie logisch, dass das passieren würde. Wer würde schon für ein paar Euro Freund*innen und Familie verlassen? Und den Status, den gerade Reiche genießen?

i point this out not so much because i think it's surprising but more to underscore how there is a modern "intellectual tradition" in this country that provides the scaffolding for their ideas even if it's dumb as hell. it makes sense to people inside the machine and that's what matters to them
