Anyway, this won't help you get ending 3, but if anyone sees this and still plays Yiik: try naming yourself "True Asuka" and see if anything interesting happens regarding how to unlock the secret fight in the mind dungeon I didn't confirm it but it might do SOMETHING

The reason "data mining has led you astray" isn't because the devs are master hackers who have hidden the means to get to the ending in an unhackable way. It's because what you're doing is sifting through code saying "how do I get the ending where I'm a functional member of society???"

If you stare into the abyss of Yiik Ending 3 hints, you get hammered over the head with messages that tell you to please stop obsessing about this and go outside. And the ending itself, which we already have seen, is a universe where there are no Alexes, and where Alex becomes a good person instead

I think a proper postmodern reading of games includes endings where you just Stop Playing. Ending A of Nier Automata is just as real an ending as Ending E. And both are just as real of an ending as the one I got, where I played for 45 minutes and then never again.
