What I find interesting about the phrase “forced adoption” is that it is used in other Anglophone countries (including the UK Australia) to describe their societies’ historical #adoption practices, but never in the US.

And to all of you "how will I become a parent without adoption" folks. I'm sorry for you loss. But buying someone else's baby, however, is morally fucked up. No amount of self-righteous entitlement can change that.

The one thing I hate most about myself is something I can never change. I was adopted. People did that to me. With no consideration of how I might feel about it one day. And "one day" arrived when I was 6 or 7 and really understood what being adopted meant. And it wasn't good for me. 🥚

A cousin on adoptive-mom's side recently chose MAID because brain cancer. My mom expounded at length about how his kids (10 & 14) needed counseling bc parent-loss. I just sat there bewildered at her lack of self awareness. 🙃 🥚 Adopters & adoption supporters just don't get it.
