This Alberta provincial government wants to do everyone’s job but their own. Poorly They don’t know what they are doing and don’t care. It’s not good governance they are after, it’s populist politics - which it seems they discard as soon as they wring people out of their money and attention.

Adoption is completely changing someone’s life. No one has the right to do that. A child needing care when they are born or their family needing support does not mean the child’s entire life should be changed. #adoptionistrauma #humanrights

Fear of women divorcing men helped kill passage of basic income law back in the 1970s. Not only was that conclusion in error, but it turned out it improved relationships. Since then, the evidence has only deepened that the power to exit it provides leads to better relationships and far less abuse.

It’s very telling how quickly adoption supporters go from “she loved you so much she gave you away to have a better life” but when the adoptee shows interest in finding her “She gave you away. She didn’t want you. She abandoned you.” #adopteevoices
