With Gawker, there was at least a non-frivolous claim. (It wasn't worth $140m and the judgment should've been stayed pending appeal.) With Media Matters, there's nothing here, no reason for them to have legal bills at all, just judges and AGs breaking their oaths to crush it.

It's not like there's some genuine partisan issue here, nor even some political benefit to Republicans for doing it, the sole reason for this is that Republicans hate science and hate public health and they happily appointed an anti-vax fraud to wreck everything.

I’m more depressed about this man advancing to the judiciary than any other thing that’s happened this year. His record is utterly indefensible. It’s like installing a judge who has announced he’ll rule for whoever pays the highest bribe - discrediting not just to himself, but the entire system.
