I'm an astronomer working with ALMA on the destruction and chemistry of protoplanetary disks. Currently a postdoc at the IWF and no longer living from boxes!

It sounds like a joke, but this here is genuinely a wind-powered rocket ship.
Show PostAnd my symapthies with the hapless academic asked to review this - not only do you have to correct the slop, you now have to explain to the author what they did as well, apparently.
Show PostThis should be a desk rejection. Asking a colleague to review this is insulting and increasing the work load.
Show PostUse AI if you think you have to, but to push a "paper" onto arXiv and openly admit not understanding the analysis, or even knowing how to approach checking it? Wow.
Show PostIn case of doubt, better mix it with SODA (paper IV). David Krebs found fast mm-flux variability in proto-planetary disks in scales of hours ⏰. His MSc thesis was a crazy ALMA experiment to implement a time-domain analysis from standard observations, and it worked out! 😱 arxiv.org/abs/2610.23640
