Midland Red took delivery of 75 Leyland Nations between August 1976 and May 1977 which it designated as type N6. 572 (NOE 572R) was delivered to Hinckley garage in March 1977 to eliminate crew operation on the 658 route. Upon the depot closure in May 1979 it transferred to Nuneaton.
