Computing tool of the day: I've needed to have an elegant way to stitch together pieces of Quarto books to make a unified html file for teaching. In collaboration with Claude I now have a great yaml-driven tool for this. #RStats

A few years ago I made a deal with myself: Every 8-12 months I pick up an introductory Linear Algebra book until I stop learning something new each time. (Some revisits are short, others are proofy, etc) @matloff.bsky.social's new LA book is good and I'll post a review eventually, for example.

Definitely a failure of imagination on my part, but with all the internal flame wars I never stopped to consider that someone might totally skip base R and go right to tidyverse. Debugging must be torture
