It's very strange to me that we're seeing this derided as insane thinking or new or caused by AI. "Oh no, we might destroy ourselves" we've feared from at least industrialisation, well before computers. "We could create paradise through applied reason" is Enlightenment stuff.

See, I actually also think like this, but at least I know where the thought patterns come from and I understand that reality is far more complicated than this dichotomy implies. 2026 is already “Good beyond [the] wildest imagination” of a medieval peasant, so that’s not actually saying much!
