I say things to other disabled people I would never frame like that to a therapist. I say things to nondisabled “allies” differently than I do to strangers in the grocery store. My husband and I practically speak another dialect of English.

My sister is in training to become a therapist. I asked her whether her program is disability-informed (in some ways yes, in other ways hellll no) and was delighted to hear that she and her peers are being taught that disability is a culture, and that in-group/outside group conversations will vary.
