It was pretty cool looking. We also got to use the giant bass drum that the chorus owned. It was so loud at the beginning of the Dies irae, you could feel in your chest. That piece rules

The cimbasso! When the chorus I used to sing in did the Verdi Requiem about twenty years ago, our usual tuba player was so excited that he got to bring and play the cimbasso he owned. I didn't know the part about Verdi hating the tuba - that's hilarious.
