losing a hand is technically better then losing an arm but that doesn't mean both instances don't come with extreme pain, mental trauma, and a need to alter their daily lives to accommodate it. someone else being "worse off" doesn't stop you from feeling or experiencing what you do.

It's the same issue as the abortion access debate. All cases are individual cases and the treatment should be something decided upon by the healthcare team and patient. There's no room in that office for an unrelated 3rd party observer, no matter how smart and reasonable he thinks he is.

There are also already subtypes of these diagnoses. These exist not for the purpose of labeling people publicly but for use in the clinical setting. Those conversations happen privately, as all medical diagnoses and treatments plans, etc.
