Claude isn't open source. Oh and yeah, can't wait for the first dead people because some techbro wanker "jailbroke" their Tesla's autopilot.
Show PostAnything generated by an LLM will still be bound to the same coding fallacies and looping based on the ingestion data without the context/understanding, which could very likely include non-clean room reverse engineering data and open general users up to their own, new security dangers and lawsuits.
Show PostMore like $10. The tech has been around since the '80s. You're kinda missing the whole "Service Manuals are hidden behind giant paywalls" of it all. Also more and more functional electronics have been coded into proprietary software since 2012. Tools get reverse engineered fast, information OTOH
Show PostI don't think it's that impressive for cars. OBD port scanners have existed for ages, letting users dig into software and take care of more servicing. Most people just can't be arsed, combined with concerns about messing up and ruining something critical. I have to imagine this will be the same.
