Hockey is expensive to play at any organized level so it's become a rich white people sport. Players also mostly make it through high school by being good at hockey instead of academic. It's a recipe for the exact entitled babies that ruin so many aspects of life.

I honestly think for hockey it’s less concussions and more about the cost. Only rich kids can afford to play enough to get good enough to go pro. I played shitty high school hockey and it cost $3000 per kid just to reserve time at the arena. Skates are $1k and sticks are $400. It’s a class thing
