Being ill is a full time job. With no commissioned services or specialists within the NHS for #ME patients have to search out anything that might alleviate the symptoms, fill in complicated forms despite brain fog, support others who are sinking and do PR for our illness. Work!

This is so true. I can think of at least two black friends in London who have told me that, while they're fine travelling around the UK and they do occasionally, only London provides an environment in which for the most part they forget about their ethnicity and what they imagine other people think.

Oh yes Ade, I've done and said so many things due to ME well out of usual character. Sometimes refreshingly frank or insightful, more often embarrassing or occasionally a little hurtful through being to blunt. I'm better able to catch this now, I think, or avoid being in the orange/red danger zone.

yet they are. And the commanders stand there like rabbits in headlights without knowing what to do because they don’t have the training or equipment to deal with it. I urge my former colleagues to get a grip, push for change. Because we’re not up to the job right now.
