Unfortunately, we're probably just grateful for investment, we're not good at food & ag investment ourselves, & seem to have created evolutionary monopolies whereby a return to smaller units seems irrational / impossible? Tho this could a) rejuvenate the sector & deliver wider societal benefits

What you've documented so well in the States is here already in the UK and getting worse, we're like the proverbial boiled frog, no dynamic assessment of M&A / sector competition, nor review of 'fit & proper' actors, waking up to find we've lost a rich healthy tapestry of rural agribusiness
