Missouri has a mandatory retirement age of 70 for all state judges. Seems like a good idea for ALL federal judges.

18 years is still too long. What about 8 years and go find something else to do, like presidents? Also, they should be easily removed when corruption and bribery are proven. Enough is this lifetime crap! The country has had to endure nonsense, because of greedy, backwards Scotuses.

Great until you get to an equal number from each party. Justices should not be political. Rule of law, not political partisanship. They need to be strongly vetted and, as you said, strict financial and background checks not just questioned by politicians.

I say retirement at 68 which was the original retirement age before conservatives changed it,immediately impeach and disbarr judges who lied during their confirmation hearings, prosecute them for all bribes and expand the courts to cover 13 districts with 13 judges.All judges should be nonpartisan.
