This is why my preferred strategy is statutory retroactive term limits with a poison pill that automatically packs the court if the term limits are held unconstitutional. But you could use the same poison pill idea for whatever other reforms you think are needed.

I think the answer to point 4 is that there is a good chance this Court would declare other reforms to be unconstitutional encroachments on Article III. Court expansion is the only option that immediately puts people on the bench who can vote to uphold the other reforms.
