ppl don't want to pay more taxes bc it's easier to be selfish & kick new costs to "other new people" & it's easy to play to that politically so will Pete play to political appeal or do what's more equitable? more prop taxes & less dev fees = more dev = more homes for ppl + more prop taxes (& so on)

he also says: "how do we deliver amenities commensurate to that growth? We can do that through taxes, but that’s a tough nut to crack. Again, nobody wants to pay more taxes" amenities are used; require maintenance/upgrades regardless of growth. why is that unfairly burdened only on new residents?

I've done large scale projects that are simply more (cost + schedule) efficient bc of clear regulatory process & sophisticated design + construction teams that 4- to 6- storey projects lacked a building form doesn't dictate universal truths about cost + efficiency

He follows up w/ saying that "we need to go [towards] 4- to 6- storey wood framed construction, single egress staircase apartments; we need to build a lot more of that bc we can build that faster + cheaper." & here's the crux; faster + cheaper isn't an objective truth based on building form
