Yeah I do think at least each family/evolution line of pokemon has a decent pokemon in it that would be good, there are a lot of single stage pokemon that seem to exist just to showcase a fun non-combat gimmick and that is kind of it.

Most pokemon lines are viable in legends z-a format, so if generation 10 continues in this direction for the series, almost all pokemon will be usable.

From a single player rpg perspective, I can understand the concept of early pokemon being worse than late game pokemon, but it is rough, especially when they fuck it up, like talonflame compared to any ice type that isn't Ice Rider
