DJ Xian (of whom I'm a fan) posted a rant to fb about how "goth" isn't actually a music genre, but an umbrella term for dozens of different dark music genres. I used to always say the same about Steampunk -- and go on to say "but lots of steampunk bands sound goth" 😅
Show PostI felt like "I know it when I see it" with "goth" music but I think Xian was right that there are more descriptive genre terms for all so-called goth music. What I would always point out in the "What Is Steampunk Music" panels I'd sit on, is that your steampunk worlds need ALL genres.
Show PostTODAY IS THE DAY!!! My new band Field Of Embers has released their first single. Please go check it out! fieldofembers.bandcamp.com/track/harm-n... We will be going into the studio tomorrow and Monday to work on a few more songs so that we can release our first EP. OMG! I'm so stoked!
