I also will say that I find it frankly racist AF that progressive candidates of color in this district (namely Mike Simmons and Bushra Amiwala), who both grew up around here and are already in office, have been discounted and overlooked by those rushing to elevate the influencer and outsider.

The ugliness being directed at Bushra Amiwala is disgusting. She was the first Gen Z candidate to become an elected official in the US, and the youngest Muslim elected official at the time. She’s been deeply involved in politics here since she was a teen.
