While yes-- discrimination CAN give you a perspective on the struggles of other people, anti-trans sentiment is NOWHERE NEAR as ingrained into modern society as racism. Our struggles are NOT composable and we GOTTA be mindful. Especially since so much of queer language is appropriated from AAVE.

I think what is happening in Ohio and Colorado, and in Michigan and Virginia, are somewhat counterpoints to the idea that it is rare that Dems embrace transphobia. It’s obviously common enough that Dems are willing to enact anti-trans policy at the state level for it to make an impact.
