Related I feel like the way most people go about "games as art" is that only some games are art and not that game design is an artform and it makes the convo pretty much worthless.

I find it funny when people talk about how games are this art form that can make you feel emotions, but then you bring up something like wanting more games to have timers & people will say its bad design "because it makes me anxious" So emotions only allowed through story, not gameplay. Got it lol.
