bsky.app/profile/kd-s... In old hospitals cancer wards were mixed often long "Nightingale" wards with beds either side and curtains around each. Good for observation, not for privacy. There was lobbying to make them single sex. I don't think future segregation of trans people was anticipated.😞

As a non medical professional, I have a naive question: why? If there isn't a care-based purpose, why segregate by gender?
