I assume a lot of this nonsense, like most conspiracies, stems from basic fear of the randomness of life (If {famous person} can just have bad things happen, when about me, a nobody?) and also the MAHA belief that being seemingly "heatlhy" (athletic, slim, muscled) means you can't suffer illness.
