This all day. Instead of tossing a new grad in a class on their own, have them spend a year each with 2 or 3 different teachers seeing how different techniques work in practice, trying things out with a more experienced teacher right there to give advice, learning all of the practical pieces

Designing the lessons is literally the only way to deliver them properly. I create lessons that work for my students because I know them and I know what they need. It’s not trial and error, it’s continuous improvement and learning. Teaching is adapting, children are not homogenous robots!

I don’t know what Emily’s educational CV is but here in Scotland my job as class teacher was very much to design the lesson. There’s very few off the shelf resources written aligned to the Scottish curriculum.
