we're all back home, he was diagnosed with cystitis which from what i understand is essentially crystals in the bladder that cause a lot of pain. he got some meds and is now going to be on an expensive special diet for life. good news is he's already ravenously hungry and snarfed down his new food

we aren't out of the woods. i have to feed him every 3 hours and he's very close to a blockage. i know it's cheesy, but if you're the kind of person that believes in stuff, please send him healing thoughts. here's the boy
