I think Sarah ( @sarahkendzior.bsky.social) would agree with Simon‘s analysis - bcs he does not treat fascism as diagnosis or ideology even, but fascizisation as a mode of operating in the digital sphere that gradually leads to an empoverishing of the public sphere, left void of meaning & resources.
