No dependencies, #nobuild step. Just a simple web framework and site generator for people who care about their users and web standards. Implemented in ~800 lines of TypeScript. 🧑‍🍳 mastrojs.github.io Account run by Mauro Bieg @mb21.bsky.social

Technically, the long tail of browser (Safari) & device (Android) support frustrates practical use of new web technologies. The people side’s a mess. Abysmal market, HTML & CSS are almost lost arts, and people either just yeet AI code into prod or use it as an example of why web dev “isn’t hard”.

Feeling a bit tired to be honest. So much CSS in JS, frameworks, and abstractions so we can race as far away from semantic sites as possible. Half of the new hotness is a rehash of the old, or so abstracted that it gets crushed under its own weight. Otherwise yay!

Need better support for PWA. Framework-fatigue is real. Things change so often that different parts of same application starts to feel legacy! It’s tiring. I’m not sure how to support newcomers to web dev. Especially with AI making learning-by-failure almost impossible.

I started web dev using float layouts, so I'm happy about how CSS has progressed and Interop compatibility. I can barely keep up w/HTML & CSS updates. I miss the quirky fun sites before social media took over, and dislike how "easy" people view front-end work since they can build a site with AI
