On 21 October, we celebrate #AppleDay. Dorset and Somerset folklore tells of Lazy Lawrence, a green-eyed pixy pony who gallops through orchards guarding apples. His name is said to refer to the inability to walk after drinking too much cider: “Lazy Lawrence has got your legs!” 🍎

Hope you feel better soon, Hannah. First birds of my day: a trio of Magpie and a pair of Carrion Crow shouting to the dawn. Not the first bird of my day, but I have seen a Little Egret on Castle Mill Stream for the first time today. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #UKBirding
