Having a kink, or kinks just means one is comfortable exploring their sexuality “outside the box” (no pun intended) and knowing what one likes or dislikes. Those who get upset about those with kinks need to just stay in their lane and stop trying to be control freaks.

As a trans-woman and as someone who was groomed online as a teen, trying to feel ashamed or attempting to control my fantasies only put misery and suffering upon me. Rather, when I actually took the effort to understand and accept that these are not under my control did I start to feel better.

I think you might have misunderstood her. Yeah, they do tend to be part of our personalities but they aren't 1:1 predictors of behavior. It's also worthy to note that paraphilia is very poorly undestood scientifically and there are no fewer than five schools of thought on it.
