@johnboorman.bsky.socialMale Sparrowhawk looking superb in the late afternoon autumnal sunshine in my garden. Not often I get this close, full picture is uncropped. 🪶 #birdingwales #ukbirding #birdphotography #ECK
Show PostORCAS!!! We spent a wet and windy afternoon watching a pod of six Orcas from the shore between Trondra and Burra, Shetland. The pod were very active with lots of spy-hops, belly rolls and tail lobs. Magical! #MarineLife #MarineMammals #UKWildlife
Show PostI don't read the Daily Mail (someone showed me this howler from 21st October). I'd just like to point out that this is not a bed bug but a beetle. So, if you like to spot a bed bug, I suggest other, more reliable, sources of information such as: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_bug
Show PostOnly recently found out that Coal Tits stash food. This one is hiding a sunflower seed in a hollow stem. Taken in my garden 17/10/26. 🪶 #birdingwales #ukbirding #birdphotography #ECK
Show PostIt's been a day of thrush movement with hundreds of Redwings, tens of Blackbirds and Fieldfares, a handful of Song Thrushes and a single fly-by Ring Ouzel - the latter a welcome #PWC2026 ✔️. The only real surprise was a Long-tailed Duck on a puddle of a freshwater pond. #WestrayBirding
