US shale drillers need between $26 and $45 per barrel to cover operating expenses at existing wells. However, to drill new wells profitably, they require prices starting at $61 per barrel for WTI, with some areas of the Permian Basin requiring up to $70 per barrel. #EconSky #Crude #Oil

WTI crude down some 4% as worries escalate over OPEC+ June oil production which will rise >400,000bpd... WTI now $56/bbl. RBOB gasoline down slightly less, 2%, or 5c/gal. Potential for the national average below $3/gal sometime this summer.
