Not every fic writer wants a book deal, but when I think of how well crafted some of my favorite fics are and know there are myriad other stories that would move tf out of readers and improve the world if they could just get on the page, this situation makes me even sicker.

YES, right there with you. This occurred to me only a day ago, that not only am I furious Opal would use AI (and involve me in use) because of the environmental repercussions and its theft from creatives, I am one of those creatives! She was using stolen work and time in a rotten lasagna of fuckery.

I helped her when she was preparing (April). Several agents had approached her and the one she chose requested she reduce the manuscript size by tens of thousands of words in a short amount of time to submit to publishers. If she was telling me the truth, a book deal was then sold to two of them.
