in general discourse would be much improved if before blaming an idea on cultural christianity everybody took five minutes to check if it also shows up constantly in non-christian cultures. if it's been in every anime you can think of that should probably make you at least a little dubious

People always say the picture on the left is a portrait of Stede. Has anyone in the show confirmed it? I always assumed it was an ancestor he's proud of. It looks NOTHING like him. Even the hair is brown & I can't imagine Stede wearing a brown wig. Compare to the actual portrait that looks like him.

i'm about to do my first ofmd rewatch since the cancellation. up until then i watched it pretty much every day since i first saw it in april 2022, and then with the cancellation and various other things (twitter, real life stuff) i just haven't been able to bring myself to watch it. BUT I MISS IT!
