THIS. If they had any rationality or compassion remaining, they would have happily put her in the men's ward and given the goddamn treatment, even if they misgendered her and were otherwise horrible throughout. UK transphobia is about rendering trans people nonpersons, up to and including murder.

People don’t like to admit that while enjoyment is in the eye of the beholder, aesthetic qualities are in the work of art. And some works of art are bad on fundamental storytelling or technical grounds, but are still enjoyable. And you are not bad for enjoying bad art.

You can enjoy something because it makes you feel nostalgic, and that is totally legitimate. It does not make it good on aesthetic grounds, though.
